The Scott’s apartment
This small apartment is situated on the third floor of a four-floor flat in Canterbury. In the entrance hall of the building there are mailboxes, a door leading to a long corridor with doors of apartments on one side and doors to the sheds on the other, and a staircase leading to the other three floors. When you go up the stairs to the third floor you can either take another stair or enter the landing further, until you reach the door leading to the third-floor corridor. You can already see a part of this corridor through the windows in the door.
The corridor has light blue walls and a dark carpet. There are four doors, leading to four apartments and there’s an emergency exit on the other side, leading to an outside staircase. The Scotts live behind the first door on your right.
When entering the apartment, you first arrive in a small hallway with three doors, the entrance door not included. The door to your left leads to the bathroom. The bathroom is small and has brown and yellow tiles on the floor and walls. Directly opposite of the door, there is a wash basin with a mirror above it. On the same wall, next to the mirror, there is a cabinet. The toilet is on your right hand, when you enter.
Returning to the hallway, there are two doors left. With your back to the entrance door, the door ahead of you leads to a small bedroom. Since it is a one bedroom apartment, Eloisa and Tom share this one. The room has one window. Since there is not much room, Eloisa and Tom store as much as they can under the beds.
When you enter, Eloisa’s bed is right on your left hand. It’s the steel one. Tom’s bed is made out of wood and is placed with one long side toward the window.
There is one dresser in the room, for both their clothes, though now Tom also saves things in his trunk. The dresser is made out of wood and has several drawers. Since both Eloisa and Tom don’t possess many sets of clothes, one dresser is enough.
Again we return to the hallway. The only door left now is the one or your right (when you are turned with your back to the entrance door). This is the door leading to the living room. When you enter this room, you can see a table on your left hand, couches on your right, and another door in the opposite wall. There are no cupboards or cabinets, because Eloisa saves the little possessions she has in the shed, because there is no room in the apartment.
The couches consist of a two-seat couch and a lazy chair, both red-and-yellow striped. They are not of Eloisa’s like, like many of the house’s interior, but she could get them for free.
The table is placed under the second window in the Scott’s apartment and has two chairs. This is the table where Eloisa and Tom eat their meals. And in the time Tom had homework from primary school, he made it there.
The door in the opposite wall leads to the kitchen. Like the rest of the apartment, the kitchen in small. The tiles on the floor are blue and green shades.
There is an oven with a cooking range on top, right opposite to the door.
On the other side of the kitchen there is a sink and several cupboards.
There is no fridge, but Eloisa saves the perishable food in the shed, where it is cool. Other food is saved in the cupboards.
In their shed there is also a tub just big enough for one person to sit in. Once a week, Eloisa and Tom drag it up to bathe.
