General Appearance: Gwyneth is a rather voluptous and robust woman, but she is nearly 5'7" so she wouldn't be described as fat. Gwyneth is black and has deeply tanned brown skin and brown eyes but surprisingly light coloured hair.
For the most part, her wardrobe consists of robes in very lightweight fabrics in varying earthy tones and bright hues. She prefers wearing such light fabrics to keep her Empath abilities unblocked, and she can often be seen waltzing around the castle in the dead of winter dressed like it's a warm summer's day.
Eye Colour: Dark Brown
Hair Colour: Tightly curly hair that is light brown with golden highlights (that she swears up and down are natural)

Personal History:
Gwyneth Lee Jones (née Jordan) was born in Exeter, England, at the end of WWII. She is the youngest of three children, all of whom are Halfblood. Her father, Calper, is a wizard but her mother, Elaine, is a Muggle. She was brought up in both the wizarding and Muggle worlds, but she much prefers a life of magic.
Gwyneth was very rowdy and headstrong as a child, often wandering off on her own or trying to be the boss when she clearly was not. This behaviour persisted and stuck with her, leading her to be sorted into Gryffindor house when she went to Hogwarts. It was in Gryffindor that she first met Marcurius Jones, a boy who (at the time) she was madly "in love" with but he still was under the impression that girls had cooties.
Around her third year Gwyneth discovered something was different about herself. She could feel what others around her were feeling, almost as if she had a sixth sense. The feeling only intensified as she got older, and with the help of her Divination teacher Gwyneth was able to determine that she had started showing the classic signs of an Empath.
Gwyneth's best subject was, of course, Divination (followed closely by Astronomy and Arithmancy).
Around fifth year, Marcurius started cozying up to Gwyneth, who by that point had given up all hope of him ever noticing her. She was overjoyed and they dated throughout the rest of their years at Hogwarts. Within a year of graduation Marcurius proposed, and six months later they were married. Shortly after the wedding the position of Divination professor became available at Hogwarts, and Gwyneth eagerly took it. Even though Marcurius worked at the Auror Office as part of magical law enforcement, he and Gwyneth bought a home in Hogsmeade so that she could be closer to the school. Life was going well for the happy couple, and when their daughter Gwenog was born in 1968 baby made three.
Things went horribly wrong in 1970, when the War on Voldemort first started rearing it's ugly head. While Gwyneth was busy administering exams, Marcurius had been sent away on a very covert mission for the Auror Office. His job had taken him away before, so Gwyneth didn't worry for the first few days. Then a week passed. Then a month.
Eventually Marcurius was announced to be missing and, many assumed, dead. This was a devastating blow to Gwyneth, who was attempting to remain calm and care for her then two year old daughter. Life was rough, and Gwyneth took a year off from teaching in order to care for Gwenog and search for her husband. Prospects got progressively worse, and it wasn't until Gwenog was nearly four years old that Gwyneth finally decided that waiting around wasn't going to bring Marcurius back.
In a financial crunch, she sold the home that she and Marcurius had purchased as newlyweds and started teaching again. Gwyneth is now teaching full-time. Gwenog lives with her grandparents during the school year, but during summer and the holidays she lives at Hogwarts castle with her mother.
Character Traits
Personality: As mentioned before, Gwyneth is a somewhat bossy creature by nature. She is very headstrong and stubborn, making her very enduring at times and completly irrittating in equal turns. As a Gryffindor, she is fiercly loyal, and she has an ingrained sense of honesty... well, maybe not "honesty", but let's just say that Gwyneth will call it like it is.
As an Empath, she is naturally very aware of the people around her and how they feel. This has it's disadvantages, as many times Gwyneth's own feelings can be put on the back burner around intense individuals. On more than one occassion the feelings she has read from someone have been so strong that she adopted them for a time almost as her own (example: her wedding night. Let's just say that she wasn't particularily in the mood until Marcurius got close enough. Him wanting Gwyneth was enough to drive her wild, regardless of her previous feelings.) This has led to some complicated situations.
But alas, every cloud has a silver lining. Gwyneth has developed the ability to be very patient and sensitive towards people's needs, making her a very good confidante. Though she can feel the emotion of others, she does not instantly know what it means, so she has learned to be very adept at decoding body language. To a regular observer, this would make her seem like a fine tuned Diviner, but Gwyneth knows differently.
Speaking of Divination, allow me to explain Gwyneth as a teacher: though a very open minded individual, Gwyneth lays down the law in her classroom. She respects her students and treats them with kindness, so long as the same is shown to her. If you get on her bad side, beware: once Gwyn has her mind set about someone she rarely changes it.
Oh, and don't even try cheating on your exams: due to her Empath ability, Gwyneth is pretty much a human lie detector. You'll get caught. And probably cry. Just like everyone that gets caught in Gwyneth's class does.

Role-play Example:
((I used a previous role-play from another bio. I hope that's alright!))
It was a quiet afternoon in the library for Lily. She tapped her quill against her temple, trying to figure out the phrasing of the next sentence she was going to write. She had been putting off this potions essay for two days, and after awaking to find it raining rather hard outside she had decided to make the most of this dreary Saturday and catch up on her schoolwork.
After scribbling a few more lines she paused and looked out the window, watching the rain pelt the glass as thunder rumbled in the distance. Lily loved storms and found them to be quite tranquil. Petunia was terrified of storms and would be trembling under the desk. If Petunia were here... Lily shook her head, trying to put that thought to an end before it began.
Luckily she didn't need much help in distracting herself. At that precise moment she could hear the sniggers of some boys in the shelves next to her, and looked up in time to see James Potter and his cohorts walk by. Wherever they went, trouble was sure to follow. Great. Just what Lily needed.
