General Appearance:
Robert has, in almost every way, inherited his father Edward’s looks and stature: dark brown hair, smooth hair, a sharp nose, a strong jaw and full lips. His body is of average height, not very tall, but neither short, and it is well trained and rank, as Robert takes much care to exercise and keep himself in shape and good athletic condition. Only Robert’s eyes he inherited from his mother Georgiana – a greyish blue, and it seems they sparkle at times. Robert enjoys dressing himself in fine clothes, bought at expensive boutiques or tailored especially for him by remarkable designers – the Tait fashions appear most often in his wardrobe. Robert likes clothes which make him look wealthy, but casual at the same time. He highlights that look with his three-day beard. He often prefers dark colours in shoes and clothing – black is his favourite colour, after all. He likes to have an air about himself that makes him seem mysterious, unreachable, neutral, sometimes even cold.

Personal History: To learn about Robert Adam Twickenham’s history means to learn about the Twickenham history in general. The Twickenham family is a pureblood dynasty that reaches back to the 17th century, and the roots of their ancestors go back to different countries like France, and even Germany. The Twickenhams are a very influential, powerful family, wealthy, and a few members in the past also had been politically active in the Ministry of Magic. The earliest Twickenhams are known to have gathered their wealth in the sheep and wool industry, other roots, like the Ruedecartes roots, through wine production in France, and again others, the Warrens in Scottland, through practising a clever marriage strategy. Those three most important family roots together brought their progeny such wealth that no Twickenham is forced to work for money – throughout the generations up till now, the Twickenhams only worked out of their own interests, and no Twickenham ever had to suffer financial problems before.
In the middle of the 19th century, Benjamin James IV. Twickenham built the Twickenhams a new home. Up till then, the family had resided in Scarborough, York. Benjamin IV. now built a large Manor in Clevedon, near Bristol. From then on, for the next fifty years, Scarborough became the family’s summer residence.
At the end of the 19th century, Benjamin James V. Twickenham followed a general trend of purebloods: taking in the upcoming ideology of pureblood supremacy, taking up the idea of purebloods ruling over all other ”bloods”, and deepening his interest in Dark Magic. Banjamin V. built an own wing in the Twickenham Manor in Somerset, dedicated only for dark magical purposes. No youngsters of the family were allowed to enter, because the wing was stuffed with dark magical objects, poisonous items. It had been Benjamin V. that brought his whole family, all of his three living children (his fourth child, a daughter, died at a very early age), to Grindelwald’s beliefs, and therefore made them support the Dark Lord, as well – without showing it openly, however. In public, the Twickenhams remained neutral at all times.
Robert’s father Edward, who was Benjamin’s V. youngest child and second son, had been arranged to marry a French pureblood witch: Georgiana Granville. In northern France, the Granvilles were a very powerful family, equalling the Twickenhams – therefore, Georgiana was said to be the perfect wife for Edward. The two married, and had three childen: Robert, a little girl called Mavie, who died after only one or two months, and Eleanor.
Robert grew up being very protected and being raised to become a perfect male Twickenham. That meant: Standing up for the family’s beliefs – pureblood supremacy – serving the family in the best possible way, bringing prestige and pride to the family, and leading on the family business (Edward Twickenham, being the younger son and therefore not the inheritor of the textile industry, started his own industry by founding a book publishing company, which specialised on books on Dark Magic – Robert will inherit this company one day). As a young boy, Robert had been exceptionally proud of telling all people that he was a Twickenham – now, as a young adult, he had learned to be more modest about his ancestors, but he was proud of them nonetheless.
Robert had attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1965 until summer 1973, and had been sorted into Slytherin – a family trait, most of the Twickenhams were Slytherins. After his graduation, Robert made a tour through all European wizard villages.
After his return, Robert’s job-related future had already been laid out for him: Robert would become a Death Eater, as much was clear. Not only was this the Twickenhams’s wish for him, but he himself wished to get the Dark Mark and serve the Dark Lord. He was raised that way, very much influenced by his father and uncle, and could think of no better, no more worthy occupation than being a Death Eater. But, of course, no Twickenham spoke those wishes out loud – they were officially neutral, and could not be claimed guilty of any crime related to Death Eaters. And so, Robert began Death Eater training – he trained duelling, spells, charms, hexes, curses, and – his personal favourite – potions, until, in early summer 1974, he proudly received the Dark Mark.
While being a Death Eater involves Robert in numerous secret projects, he officially works in his father’s publishing company, as editor and his father’s assistant.
Character Traits
Personality: To family: The family has the highest position in Robert’s life, it even is above Voldemort and being a Death Eater. Robert loves his family, especially his mother and sister. He cares for them, and he would be willing to do anything for them. However, he does not openly show his deep affection for them – it is not Twickenham-like to show emotions. Feelings like love and friendship are considered a weakness if they are shown too openly. To friends: Robert treats friends as if they were part of his family. This means – he trusts them, he includes them in his life, he invites them, he supports them and he holds them dear. But, he expects the same in return. This causes Robert not to have very many friends, but instead very few very good, trusted ones. Friends need to earn his trust. Not anyone who is a Death Eater or who shares similar interests as he does can be one of those friends. They need to prove that they can be trusted and included in his very personal inner circle. He chooses them, and he chooses them well and wisely. To acquaintances and enemies: Acquaintances and Enemies are any persons who know Robert, and he knows them, but they are not close and they are not included in this special inner circle of friends. He treats them alike, people he barely knows and people he heartily hates. To both, he appears to be above them, cold, untouchable. He does not give away any of his weaknesses to them, afraid that they might use it against him. But inside, he is very curious about them, out of egoistical reasons: To figure weaknesses of their own, which could come in handy at a later point. However, acquaintances that are powerful or wise, Robert shows respect to. He honours their wisdom and their talents, friends or foes.
